You are Here: BBT Chart Gallery > Confused and angry
Don't like what you see on this chart?Ok, here's my updated chart. My temps are a little at odds with the OPK. Temps look like an O on CD 14, OPK indicate an O around CD 23-24.
I am also super annoyed - no, angry - with my husband. I told him when I got home I'd like to do the BD sooner in the evening in case I O'd Wednesday night and I wanted to try and catch the 12-24 hour egg window. Not interested. Then I assumed before we go to bed. Not interested. Mentioned something in passing about what if he didn't have a job next year... I was so angry with him I had to go sleep on the couch. He was oblivious and woke me up this morning with a "why'd you sleep out here?"
The last 3 cycles were TTC, but not with any kind of real focus. I thought this month, let's do it right, because a year will go by and we won't really know if we have fertility problems or if we just didn't optimize our chances. I feel right now that why am I bothering spending money on vitamins, a BBT, OPK, and Pre-Seed, not to mention wasting my time doing all these things and laying flat after BD, not eating the hot dogs, deli meats, etc. during the 2WW (and adding stress to my life), when my husband can't even do his tiny little part for about a week each month. That's it! If he wasn't ready to TTC, then he shouldn't have said he was. I'm ready to just throw in the towel and wait until next year, when he's "ready." At least then I'll save some cash, stress, and not have to put up with the goo. 9/9/2009-10/7/2009 (estimated 29 day cycle)

Ok, here's my updated chart.

Sorry you are so frustrated Cinnamon. You can still BD today and still be in the fertile window. You had a positive OPK yesterday morning and I may be wrong but I thought that they let you know 24-36 hours in advance so you might just be Oing today on CD17 and you did get a BD in on CD15. Don't give up. I am throwing a ton of Babydust your way!!! Keep me posted.

Men seem to change their minds frequently. They are scared of change and of not being able to provide. I would suggest being patient with him and try seducing him instead of saying, lets have sex to try and get pregnant. I think that turns them off. It's best that the two of you are ready together. Maybe you should sit down and talk to him about his concerns and then go from there.

I don't think stress would do you any good now, while ttc :), just take it easy, men are supposed to annoy us, not having the ability to stick to decisions they agreed to previously. I think you just might catch still your "window of opportunity". Baby dust C!

Thanks for your support, ladies. Probably hormones are getting to me. It's just ridiculous because he's always been the one who wants kids, more than I. I know he's nervous about it, but argh! Why does he have to have cold feet at the most important time! The other issue is that he has ADHD, and I believe there are some side effects of the adderol - the lack of interest has been a problem for me.Going to have to bite the bullet and just see if he'll go off it for a week or so - if he really does want to TTC. Thanks again ladies! It's nice to have someone to talk to about this stuff.

I understand I'm laughing but not at you my hubby does the exact same thing 1 moment he cant wait until we have a baby normally when he is around little kids (so sweet) the next moment it's all of the what ifs... I'm about to go no...no I am Nuts. I just flat out asked him was this a sick joke he is playing because he wants to bd when I'm not in my fertile window but when I am then it's always something eventhough I dont tell him anymore when it's the time to bd.so for now on I'm not really giving up but I dont focus as much on it but when my body lets me know it's time (fertile window) I try to rock his world where the only thing he can do is sleep... I started doing it this month so Iam in 2ww we will see.. but dont you give up on what you want...

You never know you BD on CD 15 so if you ovulate on CD 16 or 17 you can still catch the egg. I BD on CD 13 and ovulated on CD 14 or 15 and got a BFP on CD 25. I thought I missed my fertile day all together this month due to JH being difficult as well but it did work. So good luck and bunches of baby dust. I did like the post before me and just tried not to let on that it was that time so he would be more willing to cooperate. It's like they get scared or cold feet, go figure.

ladies you are the best! i am reading all this and just sighing from relief that i am not the only one who goes through this! (and laughing about the goo. as i just started using pre-seed- whole new meaning to slippery wet days! lol ) Dh does the same thing! he is all about it until i say something about the "window" then he freaks out. No more calendars on the fridge! trust me.... all it does is make him think of it like a job. ( i am cool with just doing the "deed" on occasion to get it done, but he isnt. i mean there is still other days and times for making love. just like it was said before.. the "night deposit" that was the BEST!!!) i dont know about you ladies, but i have to organize and plan most everything in our household. i planned our wedding, our vacations, and just about everything else, he just has to know when and where to show up. i am taking that approach with BDing now too. I agree with lab...
another example... DH was all about having a baby. then it wasnt happening for several months. i made several trips to the gyne and all the tests i had done..... and then my doc ordered a SA for him. suddenly he became shocked and was like I have to do what??? took 5 months for him to get over it and finally take the test and go to the urologist to get checked just in case. he wanted the easy route. it was then i realized that this is just another thing i have to just take control over. and i am sure i will have most of the parenting duties as well. there is no 50/50 split here. but i am prepared for that, as there is no price or sacrifice i wont pay to experience that kind of joy and love for a baby.
ladies- i wish you all the best! Baby Dust Downpour!**********

the system will time out and not post your name if you take too long to type and hit post.....then just sign on again and say it was you...or you can always sign your post before you hit post =)
Also - Cinn - why would you be doing OPKs 2x a day...?...that may be a waste..only need to check once a day - I would wait until about noon or 1pm to get the concentration needed....at the same time every day.....it should state this in the directions....they're NOT like HPTs - the hormones are diff in each test...hope this helps. Also - I find if I DO NOT tell DH I need him for that time frame he is less stressed about it....remember it's all in God's hands anyhow....and it only take one teeny tiny swimmer....so....HANG IN THERE!!! peace out globug =D

I am using babyhopes.com's OPK (recommended by my doctor's office). Their instructions say you will get a more accurate result if you test mid-day 11-3 (the paperwork is at home), and then 5 hours later 5-9 or something like that. It takes about 5 hours or so to get the LH into your urine. So, to get the most accurate countdown, testing 2x daily is recommended.
Since I forgot to take an OPK to work with me on Wednesday, the LH surge would have begun Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. With O occuring 24-48 hours after the LH starts, I would have O'd somewhere between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The egg lives 12-24 hours, so by Friday morning at the latest the egg should be fertilized or gone. The temps don't really reflect that schedule, but I think temping has a lot more factors to influence it. By no means am I an expert on this, though, this is my first month OPK and 2nd month temping. Love to hear advice from others.

Hi Cinnamon, I am sorry you are so upset and having difficulties with your hubby. I can totally relate since my hubby has ADHD as well and honestly I am oftentimes not sure if he is doing things on purpose or if it is the ADHD. It is just hard to differentiate. We have been TTC for 2 months now and it is sometimes getting to both of us. Maybe your hubby feels a little bit frustrated as well? Mine told me to lay back a little and not to focus too much on it. He believes we can use all the charting and such for optimal chances but not to obsess about it. I sometimes dont get him to BD near ovulation either because he just doesnt feel like it. There is always next month (in his mind). I suppose guys are a little bit more layed back on that matter. We sort of want it NOW not next month when it could happen this month, right? I have not figured out how to get that point across to him. But I agree, the guy really doesnt have that much to do, does he now?

hey! thought i would share a laugh with you... my DH knows i am temping, but other than running to get the therm from walmart for me he has no idea about the whole thing. I told him about a short story in the book TCOYF, where the husband's participation in the process was to set an alarm and when it went off, jump up and pop the thermometer in the wife's mouth and later chart it out for her. she just had to open wide. (her mouth) so i asked him.... how about you do that for me??? he told me i was crazy and there was no way he would get up that early to do that. funny huh??? the things we have to do... that DH's arent willing to do. so what is so difficult about a couple of days of BDing during a time window? well my most current solution when he wasnt getting the "hint" so i walked around the house naked until he had no choice..... seriously... i walked in, put some laundry in, did some other stuff... he looked at me and was like are you getting in the shower or something? i was like "no." and just continued about my business... wiped off the counters. you know, doing stuff in the buff. needless to say, i didnt get the whole house cleaned or anything, but that was the point! i got him to then decide for himself and it wasnt like i was saying "hey lets go now". know what i mean? it was guiding his decision making process. it worked for me!

we've been TTT for over a year for #2. What i've been recently told by a fertiliy specialist is this: Get rid of the charting - get rid of the Ovulation strips tests....and simply LOVE your man every other day - every 2-3 days he said. Meanwhile we are doing the tests to see if there may be an issue with either of us. After charting for the first time in Aug'o9 - i realized this put ALOT of presurre on my hubby and I was the one tapping him on the showlder when time was up...and thought if i can just get him to Bdance during my fertile days...then I'm happy. But sooner then later I found out he felt stressed, i felt it..and it just wasn't the same - (not as fun) ?. I didn't understand it, because i think..how could you not be interested.."you're a guy"....but I've learned that I really need to back off, and just love the man i married. But...he needs to meet me half way too i told him too...we laughed, and now we have a " inside joke" and our goal is to "love eachother" 2-3 times a week moving forward :-). (although i am not ready give up on the charting just yet as suggested by the doc..i'm doing it anyway, but simply just doing it out of curiousity to compare to last months. (if hubby doens't see i'm making this "project', he may feel less stressed)...perfect example for" what he dont know...wont hurt him :)......good luck ladies!

HA! Funny! My DH probably wouldn't fall for it. I took a shower early one evening and hung out for awhile on the couch reading in the buff - not cause I was looking for something, but b/c I was going to bed soon and I didn't want to get dressed again. He said I was weird. But perhaps if I try it earlier in the day? Hmmm....
You ladies are so funny! It's nice to have you all around.
