Don't like what you see on this chart?

I've been charting this month, and I'm supposed to be ovulating around CD 13. Here's my question. If I'm using an OPK, from what I understand, you should ovulate within 24-36 hours after detecting your LH surge. I didn't detect it this morning, but if I detect it tomorrow (on CD 13) does that mean I should mark CD 14 as my ovulation day, or would I chart it as CD 13? I'm very confused, since the OPK tells you when you're about to ovulate, not when you're actually ovulating. And should I be testing twice a day (am & pm) or is once a day enough? Help!

i tried out the answer opk and i just used fmu & got my surge detected last month. but, everyone is different, so maybe 2xs isnt a bad idea. if you get a + on the opk, a day or 2 after you should see a rise in your temp. the low temp beforehand will be your O day. hope this helps:-)

It does, thanks. My worry is that I had a rise in temperature on CD 11, but didn't start testing until that day. Does that mean I could've O'd on CD 10 and I missed it? Surely I didn't O that early...see why I'm so confused? Lol!

i bet you havent yet. i could definitely see you getting a + within the next few days though. how long have you been charting? do you know your typical O schedule?

I charted a few months last year, so I don't remember when it was. We did an IUI last month, and I had a trigger injection on CD 13, so that forced me to ovulate the next day. This is my first time charting this detailed, so I'm hoping that I'm doing it right. It's helps to have the ability to keep track of all your symptoms. I think I'll test at night too. Is it possible to not have a surge in the morning but have one that night?

I think testing twice a day is a good idea. You definitely could see a surge in the PM that you didn't see in the AM. Good luck!

Thanks ladies. Hopefully I get a surge tonight or tomorrow morning. DH and I are only supposed to BD every 36 hours or so because of a low sperm count (funny how we give away so much information about our husbands on here...lol) so I'm trying to time everything out. We BD'd this morning, so I'm hoping that if we wait until tomorrow night, we should catch it right around the time it happens. I can't believe how much thought has to go into this! After everything we have to go through with charting, temping, testing...I can't believe that most people get pregnant just by BDing any time the mood strikes them!
