This post relates to: AF BFP CD CM EWCM FP ovulate ovulation

Don't like what you see on this chart?

I have NO clue if i've ovulated yet...i've been charting for the 1st month - i hadn't had my period in 6 months and after a whole bunch of testing i got put on birth control for a month and am now off of it...in Aug i got my period and am waiting to see if i get my period w/o birh control this month [or a BFP!]...prior to missing my period, i had 31 day cycle so i put this chart as a 31 day cycle [but who knows?] so my question is...if you ovulate, does it have to rise above your base line temp? [this program automatically put my base line in for me?] so far i haven't seen any EWCM but have had creamy and wet cm...i read that wet cm is also considered fertile cm & some may not get the EWCM every cycle..so my question is: could i have ovulated on cd 13, 16 or not at all? i'm still waiting to see a big spike... any thoughts would be much appreciated...thank you!!

8/21/2008-9/20/2008 (estimated 31 day cycle)

Temping can be very useful, but you have to make sure you are temping correctly. According to your current chart temps, I don't think you have ovulated yet. Also your temps must be very consistant, meaning you must take them at the same time and ubder the same conditions every time. I set an alarm so that I can take my temp at the same time every morning. If for some reason I think something might have thrown the temp off I will (x) the temp, by clicking the temp twice on the chart. Also, at the symptoms section of my chart I have added reasons why I thought my temp was off, Ex: Woke up before 7:30 am, OR didn't have a restful night's sleep. Make sure you still temp so that you have something to compare it to, just (x) it so that you know it might not be reliable. If you've x'ed out the ones that might have been off, your coverline will also become more accurate. Also, at ovulation you will have a dip, and also a rise... so far I only see the dip at CD 13. Keep temping and see if you have another dip and rise AND keep BD'ing as you have to make sure to catch the O window. Good Luck, hope this helps... I was new last month and have a better idea what to look for now.... I'm also coming off bc and things need to readjust back to what's normal or natural... don't be discouraged just yet. : )

trying41stHarrisbaby: thank u for your response & encouraging words...i AM temping at the same time ea. day or fairly close of a window [6-6:30am] but now it's more consistent...6:30am [my work is on rotating shifts] i too noticed the dip at CD 13 and the following 3 days there was a slight rise...i read that if you have 3 slightly higher temps after the dip it means you've O'ed...can my temps be considered 'higher' even tho they are not THAT high?

yes I think you should have a higher increase than what you did after the dip, it went up but not higher than your other temps. Mine is the highest temp on chart during and after AF. Sometimes it just takes making a pattern. Everyone is different so your chart will only look lie your chart. This process is about earning the signs of your body. Once you have temped a few months reading your own chart will become much easier for you. I know we all want to quick fix and a BFP right away, but we have to remember this is a process and if it happends quick, great!
Also, try x'ing out cd 10, this will give you a better look at your charts coverline... the line your temps need to be above for pg. That might help too. :)
