Is my Menstrual Cycle Irregular?
If your menstrual period frequently occurs more often than every 21 days or less often than every 35 days, or if a menstrual period is missed altogether, your menstrual cycle can be considered irregular.
Should I be concerned if my menstrual cycles are irregular?
An occasional irregular menstrual cycle or missed menstrual period is usually not a sign of a medical problem. However, consistently irregular menstrual periods are often an indication that you have irregular ovulation, or are not ovulating at all. If your menstrual cycle is irregular, you need to be evaluated by your physician.
Can I use an ovulation calendar if my menstrual cycle is irregular?
Ovulation calendars are designed for women with regular menstrual cycles. However, 50 percent of healthy women have menstrual cycles that are occasionally irregular, and a good ovulation calendar takes these irregularities into account. But if your menstrual cycle is consistently irregular, using an ovulation calendar may result in misleading information about your fertility.
