What is Cervical Mucus?
Cervical Mucus, also known as Cervical Fluid, is a very important part of fertility. Cervical Mucus is what protects sperm from the acidic atmosphere of the vagina and allows it to survive for up to 5 days. During the first few days following your period, your cervical mucus will be dry or sticky. For 2-4 days following that, it will become creamy and lotion like. One to 5 days before ovulation, it becomes clear, slippery, and stretchy like raw egg whites. This typically ends one to two days after ovulation.
