Get Pregnant Faster
Your Fertile Days
Do you know that you only have a 12- to 48-hour window
to get pregnant each menstrual cycle? But don't fret! Thankfully,
while having intercourse the day before and the day of
ovulation gives you the best chance of getting
pregnant, you can get pregnant by having intercourse
up to five days BEFORE you ovulate and up to 1 day AFTER you ovulate -
a whopping 7 days for you to have intercourse with the possibility of getting pregnant! Yippie!
Why? Because its possible for your partner's sperm to live
in your body, waiting patiently for your egg to be released,
for up to 5 days and your egg can be fertilized for 24 hours
after it is released!

pregnant faster by showing you your 7 fertile
days within your current menstrual cycle. It also
lets you record intercourse so you know you are maximizing your
fertile days.
Want a girl? Dr. Shettles says you can maximize your chances of
conceiving a girl by having intercourse during your first 3 fertile
days, and then abstain during your cycle's remaining fertile days.
Just look for the fertile days that have pink hearts on your
FertilityGal calendar.
If a boy is more your speed, Dr. Shettles says you should
abstain from intercourse during your first 3 fertile days
and then have intercourse on your remaining 4 fertile days.
Just look for the fertile days that have blue hearts on your
FertilityGal calendar.
And wait, it gets better! Your FertilityGal calendar will
forecast a year of your future menstrual cycles so you can plan
accordingly. Your forecasted periods are indicated with a
light pink tear. Just click on the next and previous month names
within the header of your FertilityGal calendar to view
a different month.
Setting up your FertilityGal Calendar
Initially, your forecasted menstrual cycles are based on your last
known menstrual period, the menstrual cycle length, period length
and the luteal phase length you gave when you registered with
FertilityGal.
The number of days your calendar indicates you are menstruating
(pink days) is taken from the Period Length
in your FertilityGal profile.
You can change your Period Length at any time and your past
and future menstrual cycles will show the new number of pink days.
The number of days your calendar shows between your periods
is taken from the Menstrual Cycle Length
in your FertilityGal profile.
You can change your Menstrual Cycle Length in your FertilityGal
profile at any time and your future menstrual cycles will
show the new number of cycle days. Your past menstrual
cycles will not be affected by the change you make.
Your ovulation day and the fertile days your calendar shows
within each cycle are based on the
Luteal Phase Length (also known as
days past ovulation or DPO) in your
FertilityGal profile.
Most women's Luteal Phase is 14 days, meaning that most women
ovulate 14 days before their next period is expected
(and are therefore fertile 19 days before their next through 13
days before their next period). Your Luteal Phase can be more or less,
though it should be pretty consistent each and every cycle.
You can change your Luteal Phase Length at any time in your
FertilityGal profile and your past and future menstrual
cycles will show the correct ovulation and fertile days.
Determining your Ovulation Day
While most women ovulate 14 days before their expected next period,
you might not. To determine the number of days between your
ovulation and the start of your next period, you can
take your temperature each morning, and chart it on
your free FertilityGal Basel Body Temperature (BBT) and Symptoms
chart. To see why charting your BBT will show you your ovulation
date, visit our Charting Your BBT section.
Using your Free FertilityGal Ovulation Calendar
