Queen asked on 7/20/2010 3:58:54 PM Report this post
My husband and I have been TTC for the Past 3 years. We having been going through several tests for him and we can not figure out what is going on with him. He is a diabetic and we are thinking that this is the problem. Therefore, we have decided to have an IUI done. I am so, so nerves…..I really do not know if I can handle any more let downs…

All of my test, have come back normal. I will be starting another round of 150mg of clomid tomorrow, and a HCG shot on CD 14.

Any, suggestions to get me through this?????

Good luck with your IUI. This is my second cycle in a row trying it. I take Femara and had an HCG shot as well. Just relax :) and be grateful you don't have to worry about missing O due to it being so controlled with your trigger shot. I feel so relieved that I don't have to do that. Has your DH got an SA done? Good luck and I have my fingers crossed for you!

Queen good luck on your first IUI I know it can be both scary and exciting. My advice would be to go into it with an absolute positive mind set that this is going to work. I just had my first on the 9th of July and got my BFP on the 19th. I also took Vitex or chaste berry pills and 250mg of b6 along with a pre-natal vitimin. Oh yeah and omega 3. I also have been eating as much organic and whole foods as possible and adding goji berries to my meals. I don't know if this helped or not but hey it can't hurt. My IUI was done on the same day that I O.
After my IUI I took the advice of a naturapath and rested lots for 4 days ate more protien especially from non animal sources (nuts, seeds, lentils, beans etc...) I did breathing excersises and avoided stress as much as possible. I put a warm beanbag on my lower abdimen from time to time (the idea is that the warmth encourages implantation) I also drank a glass or two of pure pinapple juice (not from concentrate) That is supposed to help implantation as well (but don't drink too much) I don't know if any of this helped but I did get a BFP so I am an advicat. Good luck and I really hope to see you get your BFP soon. Weemace73, I know yours is next to.

Good luck to you! I was going to join the IUI club and unexpectedly got my bfp on the day AF was to start for my IUI cycle. I was excited about it. Our plan was try 2-3 IUIs and then move on to IVF if no success, but I'm so glad we didn't get that far.

Keep us posted.

@weemace73

He has tried and DH was not able to provide a sample. The Dr.'s think that is more mental and his diabetes. So we are going with a donor.

beantrying said on 7/21/2010 1:04:20 PM Report this post
I used a donor as well Queen. DH had very low count possibly due to a prolactin problem caused by a tumor in the pituitary gland, They thought it was chromosome thing at first but in the end the best solution for us was a donor as well.

Good luck!!!!!

@beantrying

If you do not mind, which Cryo Bank did you all use? Did you have any problems with the Bank? We are using Fair Fax Cryo Bank.

beantrying said on 7/22/2010 10:47:34 AM Report this post
We used Xytex, I live in canada and only had three to choose from. But xytex is an amarican company. I think fair fax is a sister company, it sounds familliar.

They make collection condoms for those with religious problems with masturbation. It's not as ideal, but perhaps that would help his difficulty? It seems like it should be a key factor.

Today is CD14, I have had my ultrasound done, and I have five mature Follicles... WOWWWW! I also got my HCG shot today. I am going in the morning to have my first IUI... I am getting nervous. I really need to relax and get me some pineapple juice and warm water (LOL)! I will keep you all posted.

weemace73 said on 7/28/2010 1:14:56 PM Report this post
Good luck! 5 is great! I'm surprised they are still letting you move forward. Some doctors won't if you have more than 3 or 4 (depending on the doctor).

Weemac73---- I had 3 on the right and 2 on the left. The all ranged from 2.25cm to 1.90cm, that may be why they did not think that it was a big risk. I would only want 1, but If God has more in mind, i will except it gladly. I has been a long 3 years...

How are you coming along?

Good luck Queen, I hope everything goes well. Remember not too much of the pineapple juice one or two glasses a day is what I read. I don't know if all the stuff I wrote works or not but I do know I got a BFP after my IUI and I followed everything. eat lots of nuts and lentils and beans.... Protien... Keep us posted I'm thinking of you and all the wonderful women out there working on their BFP's

Today is I had my progesterone blood work and the test came back 32.5, which the doctor says is good. I will go in on 08/11/2010, for a Prego test... I am praying that I get a BFP.

beantrying said on 8/7/2010 11:33:44 AM Report this post

Queen said on 8/13/2010 8:22:35 AM Report this post
Well, This was not a good cycle.... AF showed this morning. On to another round of FD and tests.

weemace73 said on 8/13/2010 8:46:47 AM Report this post
It does take 2-3 on average for it to work just so you know. I know it's a disappointment but it'll happen :)

beantrying said on 8/13/2010 10:40:43 AM Report this post
ahhh that sucks, but no worries just like weemace say's it can take a few times. My nurse told me the average is 3 or more. Lots of positive thoughts. I took Chaste berry (Vitex) and 200 mg of b6 for a month or so before I had mine. I also ate goji berries and lots of nuts and seeds.

Your time is comming, take care and much sticky baby dust for you.

Thanks for the support. DH and I have been trying for 3 years without meds and 1 year with Clomid.

Queen said on 8/17/2010 10:44:40 AM Report this post
Friday the 13th was the beginng of AF... Aug 16, I went to the doctor for the Base line test and they discovered that I have a cyst. My FSH was 13.6 and my Estradile was 71.9. They still want me to proceed with the next round of clomid and the Hcg shot. At my previous doctor, if you had a cyst after taking clomid, I would not have been able to continue until the cyst was gone. I am really scared this time.....

Queen said on 8/25/2010 2:33:51 PM Report this post
I have finished another round of Clomid and a Base Line ultra sound. I still have a Cyst and 4 Follicles that are 2.5, 2.1, 1.4, & 1.3. The Doctor followed up with the HCG Shot, even though the Cyst was there and I had a .7 uterine lining and they wish to see at least a .8. Today I followed up with another IUI and am hoping for the best, this cycle. One thing that I do notice this cycle is, I am not cramping as much and the head aches and hot flashes are not as bad this cycle. Although my Estrogen was 848.1 and LH 10.9.... Keeping my fingers crossed.

I should know by Monday if IUI number 3 worked! Hopefully it did:) My chart looks great and I have sore hooters but that is it. LOL.

Oh Weemace that sounds very hopeful, I'm crossing my fingers for you to. come on BFP's .. Can't wait for Monday.

Queen said on 9/2/2010 2:30:46 PM Report this post
Progesterone test was over 41…. This is said to be good. This cycle, I have been having a horrible taste in my mouth and mouth stays dry. The only thing that takes the taste away is a McDonalds fruit smoothe and anything salty. Could this be good news?

9 Days past IUI....

@Weemace, you and your DH are in my prayers. Hope your blood work turns out ok.

Queen
