Is it possible to have an LH surge but not ovulate? Or will you always ovulate when you have your surge?

Babyhungry - Yes it is possible to get a LH surge & not ovulate, I am not completely positive, but I read it's because your getting ready too ovulate, but the fact is your egg is ready but your body doesn't alow you to ovulate. Now don't mark my words as I'm not too suree.
Or you might not get the cymptoms n temp shift until about 3 days later.
good luck hun, hope this helped a little.

Steph is right. You can have an LH surge without ovulating. I have read that it happens to every woman once in a while.

the best way to find out is to take some bbt's [basal body temps] each month and also if you believe you are having anovulatory cycles [no ovulation] then i would book myself in with the R.E or whoever it is is who deal with this type of thing in the U.S.....[i'm from England]

Any reason why your asking this question.....is this question connected to you personally or are you just asking in general.......reason i ask is i know that it is possible to have a LH Surge and NOT ovulate or you can ovulate 24-36 hours later

take care

I'm just curious, I just wonder if it's happened to me at all. I don't really have any way to know but just curious.
