I was sitting here thinking about how much I have been obsessing over TTC and how we all have our methods and ideas of ways to increase up our chances. I have been looking at the DH and thinking okay he wants one too... what can I have him do other than of course the obvious lol <3. So my question to everyone ttc, with BDing, is in what ways have your partners been contributing, lifestyle changes, medications, evaluations?. Im running out of ideas to up my chances now I wanna see if I can up his :) Baby dust x Christi

My DH takes a multivitamin and cut down on his alcohol intake to a maximimum of 6 beers a week.

My DH also takes a multivitamin daily. He doesn't smoke, and he drinks very rarely (1-3 beers/week). He goes to the gym daily for about an hour outside of PT (he's in the Army). The only thing we're working on right now is helping him make healthier food choices and taking lukewarm showers instead of the steaming hot showers that he loves (I heard too hot showers can decrease sperm count slightly...don't know how true it is, but hey, can't hurt to make that change!). I also heard that men who wear their cell phones on their hips or use laptops on their laps have decreased sperm count compared to men who don't...but I try not to get too carried away with the restrictions!! :-)

well, my BF is not ttc at all... :( He is in the military and we are not married yet... However, we have been together for over three years, and I am 28 and he is almost 26. So for us, we BD and "whatever happens, happens." Of course, he uses condoms, but thats for when we haven't BD'd in a while and he wants to increase his stamina (otherwise it would be just a few minutes... lol!). But he has NOT "pulled the goalie from the net" yet, so for me, I am just hoping that something natural happens and I get a miracle! I know this sounds a little crazy, but our situation makes sense to us! I think he is just a little slower than other people... I've alreayd got a promise ring... maybe soon the engagement ring will come :)

The only thing my DH is doing (other than making his contribution in a cup every month so we can do IUI) is he is taking Co-Q-10. Our fertility doctor told him to take that for the antioxidants. DH has some flat-headed sperm and I guess the antioxidants can help with that. I, on the other hand, have had to make some drastic lifestyle changes! I had to quit soccer, had to stop eating so much chocolate (which I LOVE), had to cut down on the carbs and had to cut down on the alcohol. It doesn't seem fair! Although, I am the one with PCOS and endometriosis and a high prolactin level, so I guess it makes sense.

I wish I could get my dh to cut down to 6 beers a week Myan- how'd you do it? Mine seems the most resistent to cutting back. He does take his multivitamin though. But since he's had his "above average" SA, he's not adjusting anything.
But, he is eating healthier because I've changed our diet.

Hi ladies. Hope you are all well. For the ladies who have changed diets & your DH's diet, what have you changed more specifically, certain foods added, etc? My husband only drinks maybe 1st a month so we are good there. He exercises about 4 hours a week (BTW we saw a fertility specialist who had my DH reduce the number of hours he worked out...apparently you can exercise too much). I struggle to get him to take a vitamin! I feel like his mom sometime :-P How have you ladies adjusted your lifestyles so that your DH doesn't feel bombarded?

As for us.....my DH doesn't smoke, doesn't drink, nothing. He has increased his water intake to 64oz a day. He takes Centrum multi-vitamins daily (he would be taking the Fertilaid for Men...if he wasn't such a big baby and learned how to swallow a pill at 40 years old!! ) <<......sorry thats another story. LOL I had him limit his drinking ofcarbonated stuff (he is a Coke Cola addict) and coffee to 1x per day. (THAT WAS A CHALLEGE!!!) I also buy all organic meat, milk, veggies, and fruit as well. He say he hates organic so I lie and tell him it's the regular stuff just for him.....he says it tastes better. Little does he know... I DON'T BUY REGULAR STUFF I LIED!! HAHAHA. I know.. I'm evil muahahaha!! =-) I wonder if I can open the FertilAid for men capsuls and he can take it that way? hummm......? Any ideas?

Lol Holly nothing wrong with sneaking healthy stuff in :) Not sure about the Fertilaid but maybe in applesauce or peanutbutter or something like that. The NON organic stuff of course ;) lol.
All this talk about diet makes me wonder about being Vegan. My hubby recently decided to go Vegan. Ive been trying to conform to it but I feel like im eating air lol never full...Time to google Vegan diet and fertility. Babydust x
