How do you make the decision on whether or not to find out your baby's sex? What do you take into consideration? Which is/was better/worse for you?
DH & I are stuck in a delima! When we 1st started TTC we decided that when it happened that we wanted baby #1 to be a surprise... Now, DH has enlisted in the Marines {scheduled 2 leave Oct. 13} and is expressing interest in knowing the sex. I remain the same and dont care to know boy/ or girl and in the past DH has brought up a case study done stating that mothers who find out the sex of their baby is NOT what they desire, they SUBCONSCIOUSLY fail to take care of themselves as well as they would have if they didnt know...
... I think it would be exciting to keep it unknown! Im just a little curious as to how others have handled the same situation! =D

I personally would find out the sex, although I have no judgement of people who do not. I just think that knowing the sex makes it easier to plan for the baby, especially if you want to do a traditional pink or blue room. Also when it comes to a baby shower almost everyone will want to know what the sex is because it is easier to buy things when you know what it is because you don't have to try and decide what is nutural because everyones opinion is different. Like I said I hope all is well because weather girl or boy it's always a joy.

We tried to find out with Connor but he kept showing us his butt lol I was the type of personw here I had to know EVERYTHING lol Honestly, when we tried and couldn't find out, I was releived, espcecially since I had a c-section it was nice to have a nice surprise after the hellish delivery LOL With Chace I was going to find out one way or another lol I wanted to be able to talk to Connor about his brother or sister, and make the name issues easier. I was so thrilled to know he was another boy because it made it easier to go through Connors clothes and put his baby stuff in the closet. Cause if he was a girl I'd donate Connors stuff and buy new stuff. As for the name, he was a few minutes old before we decided his name LOL In my opinion, the first should be a secret but finding out for the second makes sense for preparations.

We found out with our DD but I think this time we are going to wait... depending on if DH wants to.
As far as planning and getting 100% prepared before the baby comes(or as close to 100% as possible) it helps to know the gender.
I train people for my job and my last class there were several girls who chose not to find out and they loved it. One girl said it's great because then everyone just gives you gift certificates and you get to go on a big shopping spree after!

We were not going to find out, but I'm terrible with delayed gratification. So when I was given the opportunity to find out, I jumped on it. I am so much more excited about the pregnancy now, that I know. I am constantly talking to the baby and have already started to decorate the nursery. I am really glad I found out. We are keeping the gender secret from friends and family for the time being, so we can enjoy having a little secret together for awhile.
Also, I am having the opposite of what I wanted and thought I would have.....and I don't think I can be any more excited! (But maybe because it's my first) I am glad I knew sooner than later, because it has given me time to adjust and be excited. (Truthfully though, I know I would have been happy with whatever gender god blessed us with)
Let us know what you decide to do.

We found out and I'm glad we did. I was thinking the baby was another girl, but we're having a boy this time. It took me a few days to adjust to the idea of a boy and I'm still processing it. I'm excited, but still need to plan.
