Ok so I guess I am of the "have to see to believe" personality because it's been 3 weeks since my obgyn appt. and I have another 2 weeks till my next one and I'm starting to get that sinking feeling of disbelief back. I read those "your baby this week" updates and in the back of my mind I try to reassure myself that if the baby *weren't* progressing like they say, I would've had a sign - blood, sickness, something - by now.
Am I weird? Has anyone else had this feeling? I keep feeling like there's just no way this is actually happening!

I know how you feel! When I went for my u/s at 16 weeks is when it hit me. I saw him in 3D and he was beautiful! I'm not showing a whole lot and to see him moving around and eating his fingers... wow. The beginning is kind of tough because you're so ready to have the proof under your shirt! It's coming... I'm sure your baby is perfectly fine! Good luck! Keep us updated!

PB I'm pretty sure we all feel the same way. I'm going to hear the heartbeat next Tues for the first time and I think it will make it alittle more real. Even though I had every symptom possible and know for sure I am PG it still doesn't seem real. It didn't really feel real to me last time until I started showing and feeling the baby kick. And as Rachel said with the u/s too...Don't feel bad because it's completely normal and in no way are you insane! ~Hugz and sticky dust!~

THANKS guys! I guess I just wanted to see if I was weird or if everyone felt this way! Never having been pregnant before, it's hard not to have anything to compare my feelings to. So glad I have this site and you all to come to.
Thanks w8ing2conceive for your kind words - I will now return to my optimistic self =)

lol - it most def is happening. you're right though it's surreal bringing a life into the world and until you see that little form it's tough to visulaize. When I had my son I found it impossible to imagin the person he would become - you know what I mean?
This is such an exciting time - your body is changing and you will feel all kind of emotions along the way - good luck and treasure each and every thought, feeling and experience! They are all valid. PS maybe you should keep a journal so you can go back through the next 6 months - something to share with the baby?
take care pb!

PB - I am just over 14 weeks and I still don't believe it sometimes! I have had 2 u/s and heard the heartbeat via doppler. We have told everyone we know - including work. Yet, it still doesn't feel real sometimes. I think it will once I feel it moving (saw the baby moving at the last u/s but can't feel it yet).

Potbelly, I feel your pain as I am in the same boat. I saw my OB when I was 7w3d and I dont get to see him again until Dec 3rd (my 13th week!) I scares me to no end because I have not heard my baby's heartbeat or even seen him/her via ultrasound. I am 11 weeks today:), no bleeding, minor AF like cramps at times and my symptoms are pretty much non-existant at this point!! I truly do dislike the wait to be able to hear anything let alone see anything. I believe that if my pregnancy was meant to be, it will happen. I know I need to leave it in god's hands but it is a killer not knowing:( I have even gone as far as to take another HPT last week just to make sure my HCG levels were still showing...I know CRAZY right??!! Well, as mother's or mothers to be, we all worry. I am trying very hard to believe that all is well but I can't help but worry. Take care and STICKY DUST TO YOU!!!!!!

I know exactly how you feel, I have been the same way. The one thing that I did that allowed me to keep my sanity was ordering a fetal doppler. Being able to hear my baby's heartbeat whenever I want is so reassuring. I will be 14 weeks on Friday and I have been using it for the last 5 weeks. I bought the AngelSounds Fetal Doppler and it was only $35 and works great. There are some women on here who never had luck with them but I would say it's worth a shot. I was hesitant at first but I am so glad I went ahead and bought it! I know how it is to seemingly convince yourself that something is wrong, I did it too. Everything from the fact that I'm not showing much to the fact that I never have thrown up was a bad sign to me when, in reality, everything is perfectly fine. Just remember to allow yourself to be happy, you deserve that after fighting so hard for this. And so does that little one!!!!!!! :)

ladybugg, funny you mentioned the Angelsounds doppler as I just purchased one online about 5 minutes ago!!! Now the waiting game for it to get here. Im happy to hear that you have found it to be a great purchase. I am dreading not being able to hear the heartbeat once I do get it. Hopefully I will be lucky like you were:)
