We have TTC now this is month 9. No success
My question is my fertility calendar predicts ovulation tomorrow the 12th- we BD on Friday the 7th, and 8th and 9th(hoping for a girl so we are following the fertility gals suggestion. But my OPK test says I have not reached ovulation . I used the OPK test last month and it noted ovulation on days 13 and 14. I got AF late in the afternoon on the day it was espected- usually comes in the morning. So when you set the clear blue Easy fertility monitor I had to set it for the follwoing day as my day 1. But to me that would have been day 2 of my cycle. AF came September 1st.
I am worried we BD too soon. What should I do? Should we BD again tonight?? Please help

casylvestre,
Since this is your first cycle using fertilitygal, and you know at what point in your last cycle you ovulated (day 14), I suggest you record your August period on your fertilitygal calendar, and make sure that your ovulation is indicated on cycle day 14 of your august cycle (since you said your OPK test indicated you ovulated on day 14).
If your calendar does not indicate the correct ovulation date, you need to count the number of calendar days (not including cycle day 14) through the end of august (since your next period started on 9/1), and change your luteal phase length (which you currently have set to 15) in your profile to that number, so that your luteal phase is correct and august shows you ovulating on day 14. Then look at your september calendar month to decide if you need to continue to BD.
If your luteal phase length is correct, its possible that your september cycle is going to be longer than your standard 27 days, meaning you are going to ovulate later in your cycle.
Hope this helps!

hi Fertilitygal- I used the calendar on your site in both August and September. I ovulated on day 13,, not 14- Well at least my OPK showed ovulation on 13 and I tested again and it was still shoeing a positive ovulation sign on day 14. The August calendar on your site did infact show a correct ovulation day. I am confused because last month the calendar showed ovulation on day 13 and this month the calendar is showing ovulation on day 12. My cycles are always 27 days long. I do not anticipate it being longer this month,. I guess we will continue to BD ?? thanks for your help :)

Sorry, when i looked at your calendar, i did not see that you had an august period recorded. Did you delete it, or did i miss it? a positve opk indicates that you will ovulate 24 to 36 hours later, depending on the brand. What does yours say? If you were charting your bbt, when did it spike?

I may have deleted it, I am not too good on computers. I do not chart BBT- I have trouble with it..I tried it for a few months...it was usually 97/1 then it went to 99 and stayed there for days then back to 97..I never could distinguish a distinct pattern. Thats why I switched to OPK's...I had the Clear blue easy fertility monitor. It asked me to "pee" on days 10, 11, 12, and on day 13 I had a "egg" last time (August) this time I tested day 9 and today day 10. So I will wait and see..

casylvestre,
I re-added your 8/5 period to your calendar. When I did so, your existing 15 day luteal phase setting had your ovulation on day 12 of 27, not day 14 (as your clear blue easy monitor indicated -- ovulation should occur 24-36 hours AFTER it first tells you you are in your peak fertility).
I updated your profile so that your luteal phase is now 13 days, so when you look at August on your fertilitygal calendar, it shows that you ovulated on cycle day 14 (August 18).
Now, if you look at your September calendar, you'll see that today is your 3rd day of fertility, assuming your cycle will be 27 days long again, and if we've got your dates right, your clear blue easy monitor should indicate your highest days of fertility as Thursday and Friday (cycle days 13 and 14).
Good luck!
