Well ladies it has been awhile since I have posted or been on since my computer decided to crash :(
So I went to my regular doctor for a sinus infection on thursday (11-19) and we talked about ttc and my PCOS and all of that.
She then told me that I should make an appointment with my OB/GYN and talk about getitng put on Metformin to help me lose weight since I am having trouble and that the Metformin could even help me get pregnant, she said she has heard alot of stories of women getting put on Metformin to help with PCOS and then getting pregnant shortly there after. We have been TTC for over a year with no luck.

Any advice/stories/knowledge/encouragement would be great

I have never heard of it. So you have been just going to a regular dr about your TTC. I have never done that. I have gone straight to my OBGYN. But if you take this metformin for weight lose are you going to have to stop taking it once you get pregnant? Guesss i will have to research it. Goog luck and it is worth a try.

Umm i just looked it up and it is used for type 2 diabetes. It is to control your blood sugar. I don't know if it will help you lose weight or get pregnant. But if you r doctor says that it might work then by all means try it. Just do your homework on the drug first.

Shea- I am normally seeing my OBGYN for the PCOS stuff I just brought it up when I was at my regualr doctors. It is used for type 2 diabetes but the stuff it helps with the diabetes can also help with some hormone levels and other stuff with PCOS. It is worth a try hopefully im going to call monday or tuesday and make an appoointment with my OBGYN.

Oh ok i was just researching it and just didn't know if you did or not. Sorry i didn't mean to offend you. I was just trying to give you some insight. If it work for TTC go for it. I mean i would just about try anything after a year of TTC. GOod luck and let us know how it goes.

There was no offense taken shea, Im not sure if it will necessarily help me get pregnant but it should help me lose weight and balance out my hormones some from the PCOS so it surly can hurt TTC, I mean we have been TTC for over a year and a half about so another couple months won't kill us, though sometimes it seems like it.

Well ladies I have bee searching online about Metformin and I found numerous sites that say doctors are using Metformin to help with some of the problems caused by PCOS, help regulate hormones and can even help regulate cycles. It also helps lose weight because it helps with hormones.
If anyone had any information or advice that would be great!
