Sorry gross question but I'm just wondering how long most women hold it. I get up right away and go to the bathroom. Is this bad? I heard there are so many sperm it doesn't matter.

when i was researching pregnancy, it said that you shouldnt go to the bathroom right away after sex...afterwards i lay there with a pillow under my hips, sometimes my legs in the air :) lol....its comfy :) i usually just go to sleep after that get up and go to the restroom in the morning....

Whiel trying to get pregnant I'd lie there for at least 10 minutes if I could but I'd usually have to get up to pee. The better the orgasm themore I have to go lol Plus it's better for you because if not sometimes from all the friction you can get serious UTI's. The time we had sex when I'm positive I got pregnant I was propped up for a few minutes but accidentally fell asleep for a few hours. That was more than 11 weeks ago and now my kidneys aren't doing so well. My doctors are wondering if they'll hold up to this pregnancy. Now I have a history of Kidney infections that started as symptomless UTI's so I'm prone to them very often and sex causes th em now apparently. If you don't have them you can lie there if you need to but usually what drips out isn't sperm it's semen. Our bodies turn it to watery liquid almost instantly because our bodies don't need semen. It's just the way sperm is carried form his body to ours. We suck those bad boys right up lol So usually what runs out is Semen not sperm. After a few seconds after ejaculation the fasteest healthiest sperm would go right to the top and not risk falling out lol I feel like I'm talking about flys getting caught in a spider web lol

I put a pillow under my hips and snooze for a little while, 30-60 minutes, Then, I force myself to get up and pee, because the friction "may" give you a UTI. So try not to ever wait until morning, ever - even if it's after 2-3 hours and you roll over - get up and pee! So if you are REALLY ttc, and don't "know" if your DH has health or fast swimmers - DO NOT rush to the bathroom to clean up. You want to give it the BEST chance to get through your cervix, to reach their goal the EGG! =) Hope this helps! <><

I usually flip around on the bed and kick my feet up on the headboard. If I don't do that, then I tend to fall asleep with a pillow under my hips. I got pregnant the second month (but the first one didn't count for various reasons - like building the frame of the house and hauling two tons of construction garbage)

I often fall asleep after and sleep through the night. I've never had a UTI. My RE also told me that raising your hips, etc. doesn't matter. However, I feel that if it gets you in the right frame of mind, why not. My mother is a firm believer in rolling over onto your stomach and sleeping that way. A woman told her that when she was ttc and she always did it when she wanted a baby. I'm the youngest of 3, and my mother was pregnant a total of 5 times.

i'm with corinna on swinging myself around and propping my feet up on the headboard. usually for about 15-20 mins. sure, hubby looked at me like i came from planet freak - but i think they expect you to be a little crazy when ttc/pg! i'm not sure i truly believe that it makes a difference - my feeling was just that it certainly doesnt hurt and it just MAY help!

Speaking of being from planet freak when TTC, isn't it crazy how we (or at least me) view the whole baby making process as something we just need to DO? I mean, really, when else would we ever think of being so methodical about sex? AND, when else would we allow our husbands/partners to get away with it?!! HA HA HA!!!
The first night of trying for this baby... after finishing, he put his hands on my knees and shouted "down there" to the little swimmers "GO GO GO!!!"
***hey, come to think of it, perhaps that is why the first month didn't work...I laughed it all out of me!! H AH AH AHAHAH!!
