I am due for af to show between the 26-28 and its the 26th right now and so far she has not shown but Im sure she will soon. I have PCOS so I know my chances of concieving are probably shit right now (sorry about the language, but you all understand my frustrations). I really havent had my normal af symptoms like I normally get but im sure she will show up like she always does I just wish if she would she would hurry it the heck up. The doctors keep telling me that I need to lose more weight, I was at 240lbs when I started to lose weight and I am now at 193lbs and I have been stuck @ this weight for awhile now, its like no matter what I do it just does not want to come off anymore. I mean my grandparents were overwieght when they had their children as was most of my family so the darn doctors cant tell me that it cant be done. Sorry I just had to vent Im about ready to just give up on it all.

I gained 52 lbs with my son. I gained some more weight after he was born. At my highest weight I was 202 (I am 4'11). I did the diets, the Metformin (I was insulin resistant and having some symptoms of PCOS). None of those worked. The Endocrinologist told me the Metformin would assist in weight loss. Didn't phase me. Anyway, I had Gastric Bypass surgery last June 6, 2007. Day of surgery I was 202 and I am now 120. I have been off birth control since June and still not pregnant. They told me I was would Mrs. Fertile Mirtle after this surgery..so far not any difference. I guess it could be hormones but who knows? Anyway, just thought I would share my story here with you. I hope things work out for you soon. I know how bad it feels to want something so bad and it seems so far away. Hang in there.

Congradulations mrsbell that is amazing!!! I talked to my doctor about weight loss surgery and he said that he would rather not because I have had such a hard time with being put under when I had my teeth pulled (weird I know) and when I had my D&C to get rid if the polyps in my cervix. I mean I know im in really bad shape, I can take walks and jog and even run for awhile without getting out of breath and I work out pretty regulary the weight has just stop coming off. Thanks for your story and best of luck to you!

How long ago did you lose the weight and how fast? That can have alot to do with your cycle. I went from 212 to 165 in under a year and it regulated my period lol BUT it still messed up my fertility. I gained about 10 pounds with the stress of not concieving though I was working out really hard and after 7 months of really trying and a period I knew would ocme on the 8th of every month around 7am (now THATS regualr! lol) we finally got pregnant. Mind you I didn't have PCOS but I was being sent to a specialist because it was taking so long and ended up with a BFP 2 days before the appointment lol I still went and he'd explained that losing that kind of weight that fast and coming off birthcontrol confuses your body so it really has to work hard to get itself under control it can't concentrate on getting pregnant as well. Even though I'm only 25 that had alot to do with it as well. I'm still young but I don't have the reproductive system of a 18 year old anymore either. I think the best thing you could have done first was dropping the weight because whether oyu think so or not, that was a significant amount!! I know what its like to be stuck at a weight though lol I work in a health club so I get a free membershipa nd I workout ALOT and I got stuck forever at 170 pounds. My body liked it lol And yours is liking 193. It doesn't want to lose anymore so you have to shake it up and do something different, change a workout or up the intensity and after a while the plateau wil ease and you'll drop more. I've heard weight loss can help PCOS too so why not go for it right? A Healthy you is the most important thing!!

Mara04 I lost the 47 lbs in about 7 months...since I have lost the weight my periods have been pretty regualr with the exception of the issues I had with the PCOS. I have been off my birth control for almost 2 years so my doctors said that should have nothing to do with my cycle and messing it up. I have switched up my work out and I even work with a personal trainer twice a month to asses my progress and what needs to be changed and done to keep me on the right track and the weight is just not coming off and its frustrating.

Thats really fast tolose weight and holy crap wtg lol That could be the reason I lost less than that in more time and my periods went really regular but it seemed to have an issue with me getting pregnant. If thats the problem with you it should go away on it's own. If not, I'm not sure what to say because i'm not very fmailliar with any health issues like PCOS.

I have lost the 82 lbs in 1 year. My periods have been regular my whole life. Even after coming off the pill in June--well it was a few days late--but not anything out of the ordinary that would probably happen to anyone..but eversince..my cycles are/have been between 28-20 days. They did an U/S back in May at my annual exam and said everything looked great in there..and my cycles being regular is a good sign. PLUS I surged for 3 days. This was the first month of using OPK. Hopefully this is our month. :)

Whoops a typo there...my cycles have been between 28-30 days.

Ok, I gotta ask, how in the world did you lose 82 pounds in a year? I'm guessing at about 70-80 pounds i'll need tolose after this baby is born and I would like to do it rather quickly. I eat well and workout religiously, often too hard, and still nothing happenes. I've had my thyroid tested and i'ts fine but I'm geting tired of always being the fat girl no matter how hard i work. Pleas elet me know how oyu did it!

Heather, I just thought I would share a story with you. I recently found I have PCOS, and I was feeling really down about it, and like it meant I would never get pregnant. I am a member of a knitting group, and one of the women got diagnosed with PCOS a couple of weeks before me, and her Dr referred her to an RE, but when she went to her appt, she found out she was already pg. She was a little overweight, and had never had a regular period, so don't give up. It happens to people all of the time!

Well it is 12/31 and AF still has not shown up...she was due between 12/26 and 12/28 so I think I may test on the first or second. I have not had any AF symptoms but I have also not had any preggers symptoms...what does everyone think.

Mara04 said on 12/31/2008 2:55:49 PM Report this post

Well ladies I tested today and got a BFN but Af is only 4 days late and I didnt use FMU so I may retest in a couple days with FMU if AF still doesnt show because I am not having any AF symptoms. Thanks Ladies for the encouragement!!!
