I just got an uti. the doc put me on an antibotic (nitrofurantoin-macro) for the uti. Will it decrease my chance of gettting prego this month. Will it kill all of the sperm? I get utis when I dont go to the bathroom within an hour of bding. The docter said for me to take 500mg of chewable vitamin C tables and two full glasses of water after bding and it should push all if the bacteria out. Is this true. Does anyone else have any ideas?

BUMMER! UTIs suck! I had one when we were TTC our first and it was not fun. I haven't heard of the water/vit. C thing, but I would try it if your dr. recommends it. Also, I know everyone says not to get up right away after BDing, but I read somewhere that the swimmers make it where they need to go by then anyway (I still lay there for at least 5 min). I know it's also important to BD when you're both clean and always clean off with just water afterwards too. Just some ideas, you might already know. I wish you the best and I hope you get over that stinkin' UTI soon! Baby dust to you!!!

Thank you. We are careful about being clean when we bd but i didnt know the thing with washing after. we did the bd the day I O'd and the next day I got the uti because I fell a sleep. Do you know if itsgoing to affect the chance of conciving this month, because of the antibiot?

Does your Dr. know you're TTC? With my first one, I just told them there was a possibility I was pregnant and they put me on a specific medicine for that, I'm sorry I don't remember what it was called. You might find out if your med is safe ASAP. I'm glad your UTI waited until after your O day!!! That would really be a bummer if it happened before, limiting your BDing! Good luck and I hope this is your month!
