when you get your positive using an OPK...do you put your O date as that day or the next day?

I put it as the next day...is that right?

wow...my question has been viewed 19 times and no one has had an answer to help me out? :(

is it possible all those 19 people have never used an opk???

all these pregnant women posting actively on this site, and not one of them has used an opk?

bummer!!! :(

Sorry hun, I never used one. I was close though because I was getting desperate and no matter how mnay time I've heard people explain them, I have no idea how they work! I always thought when you used it and got a positive you were ovulating like right then lol Which would be very impractical lol I wish I could help you out though. Have you maybe tried to look it up online? Like google is or something who knows right? Good luck

FYI this is the first time I looked at your post.

I used OPKs last month and I got my "surge" after my calendar said that I was going to O. I took a month off but I don't have a real answer for you. I just made sure I bd's when I saw the positive and the days after.

Sorry I am not much help. I am interested to see the answers that you get as I am curious myself.

thanks for the responses ladies.

i guess i assumed if i got the positive, then I'd record my O day as the next day.

but then i was reading over the instructions the other day and it said when you get your positive you will ovulate WITHIN 24-36 hours.

so then i got confused...would it be that day since it could be WITHIN the same day (24hrs).

or is O-day the next day?

we still BD all around the day, I was just wondering how I should record it on my calendar.

thanks again!

I viewed this post but I have no experience with the question asked. I tried OPK's and for some reason, they didn't work. I ovulated and it still didn't show up on the opk. Sorry, I couldn't help.

cayla--are you temping too? your temp will rise dramatically after you o, so if you are temping, then you can wait until you see a rise. also if your mucous is no longer the fertile type mucous, you have ovulated. good luck!

I did use OPKs and recorded my O date as the next day. I would say that's a safe estimation since you can't know the exact moment...If you start BD when you ge the surgue and for a few days after, you should be certain that you gave it your best shot! Good Luck!
Pun not intended :)

no I'm not temping.

only used OPK (and this was the first time)

this is only our 3rd month TTC.

we BD the day I got the positive.

then a couple days after.

thanks again ladies for all your help.

Well you did what i did. I got a postitve OPK and BD that night. Then the day after then next. SO i got a positive OPK on friday. And BD friday night. Then no BD on sat. then BD again on Sunday. And i am pregnant.

you should BD that day, the day after and one more day for good measure. :)

Also, consider temping if you don't get your BFP this month. it is the best indicator of when you O, (but not until the day after)

Best Wishes!!
